Hudsons Hamburgers in Coeur D’Alene

Dang. No posts for a week! Sorry about that, stupid real life got busy. Anyway, I was going through my e-mail today and I found these pictures that my wife took when we were in Coeur D'Alene a month or so back. On the recommendation of some friends, we decided to check out Hudsons Hamburgers in downtown Coeur D'Alene. I think it's been there for something like 100 years? It's basically a tiny bar with maybe 30 stools for seating. So, there's usually a line out the door and people standing behind you while you eat. But, thankfully the burgers pretty much fly off the grill. I thought I took a picture of the menu, but I can't find it now. I think there were like 4 things you could get. It was like hamburger, cheeseburger, egg sandwich (for breakfast) and pie.
When you order your hamburger or cheeseburger you are asked if you want onions and pickles and that's it. Then the man at the grill scoops up some fresh ground beef, makes a patty and starts frying it up in front of you. The grill is blazing hot so your burger, when complete, is crispy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. Your only other choice for customization of your burger is which sauce bottle you want to use. There is mustard and spicy ketchup. I think the spicy ketchup is just regular ketchup with horseradish or something, but it is AWESOME.
As you can see in the above picture, I enjoyed the cheeseburger with onions and pickles (I think it's like $2). The coke that is pictured is the only size that soft drinks come in, which is hilarious. Afterwards we had some chocolate cream pie, but I'm still looking for that picture. Here's what the place looks like from the outside, so make sure you don't miss it if you are anywhere near Coeur D'Alene.
